Riverside High School is being built adjacent to Belmont Ridge Middle School and will be the newest high school to serve Loudoun County. Previously named HS-8, the opening of Riverside High School is scheduled for school year 2015-16.
Riverside High School will take students from and provide relief for Stone Bridge High School, Tuscarora High School, Broad Run High School, and Briar Woods High School.
Where: Lansdowne, near the National Conference Center, on the same property as Belmont Ridge Middle School
When: Construction will start in 2014 so Riverside High School can open in the fall of 2015 in time for the 2015-2016 school year.
Riverside High School will be similar to Rock Ridge High School – in appearance and building style – with a planned capacity of 1600 students. The school boundaries have already been drawn, in conjunction with the boundary changes of for Rock Ridge HS. See our Loudoun County School Boundary Map for more detailed information.
Belmont Ridge Middle School will be sending students to Riverside High School … since it is their next door neighbor!
The principal will likely be named around the time that construction starts. Then the fun of picking a mascot, school colors, and creating the character of the school starts!
