Loudoun Schools Boundaries adopted for 2014Being the fastest growing school division in Northern Virginia, Loudoun County Public School continues to strive to provide for the needs of the rapidly growing student population in the county. For several years now, LCPS has been opening a new school every school year and this will continue for several years.

The NoVa Real Estate Group can help you keep track of the many changes and development happening in Loudoun County Public School system. New school zones have been adopted by LCPS and will mainly affect the areas of Ashburn, Brambleton, and Leesburg. Here is a quick preview of what to expect in the future:

  • Discovery Elementary School in Ashburn is opening this coming September 2013.
  • Moorefield Elementary School is also opening this coming school year, and is located in the southern part of Ashburn.
  • Trailside Middle School (MS-6) is located adjacent to the Newton-Lee Elementary School and will open in the school year 2014-2015.
  • Rock Ridge High School (HS-6), very recently named high school is located adjacent to Rosa Lee Carter Elementary School and will open in the school year 2014-2015.
  • Riverside High School (HS-8), the other recently named high school will be constructed adjacent to Belmont Ridge Middle School in the Lansdowne development. Riverside High School is slated to open at the start of the 2015-2016 school year.

Because of the addition of the new high schools, Rock Ridge and Riverside, new school attendance zones are being formulated, affecting the current school zones of Belmont Ridge Middle School, Eagle Ridge Middle School, Farmwell Station Middle School, Mercer Middle School, Stone Hill Middle School, Briar Woods High School, Broad Run High School, John Champe High School (specifically only those areas within the John Champe High School attendance zone which are presently within the Stone Hill Middle School attendance zone), Stone Bridge High School, and Tuscarora High School (specifically only those areas within the Tuscarora High School attendance zone which are also presently within the Belmont Ridge Middle School attendance zone).
